Unlike Foot Care or Hairdressing, where recognised accredited registers genuinely exist, we found no single, well-established, independently-verified UK professional body specifically for the general handyman trade. A self-reported 'UK Guild of Handymen' and a US-origin body expanding into the UK exist as claims, but neither was independently verified in our research. TrustMark — the UK Government-endorsed quality scheme for home-improvement trades — is a promising lead and covers a wide range of domestic trades, but whether it currently includes general handyman/odd-job work specifically wasn't confirmed; check directly with TrustMark if this matters to your business. In practice, most clients will weight visible evidence — before/after photos, reviews, insurance — more heavily than a certificate from an unverified body.
