Built by someone who has done it

Built by Hugo Tupper, who grew his own local mobile business from nothing to six figures in one year.

It took hard work and long hours — but it is very doable. Everything he learned is in here, applied to mobile earwax removal.

  • The formula he used

The pricing, area planning, enquiry handling and marketing steps that worked.

  • The mistakes he made

What failed, what it cost, and what he’d do differently — so you can skip it.

  • Not generic AI advice

Real lessons from running the business, adapted to your trade.

Hugo’s own experience, not a promise of your results.

Insider tips

Practical considerations — honestly sourced

Research here is thinner than other trades, so these are reasoned points, not proven findings.

  • Ask your insurer directly

Not every CPD course satisfies every insurer. Check before you book training.

    More in: Insurance

  • Microsuction ≠ irrigation

They may need separate training and separate insurance. Check both.

    More in: Business Overview

  • Test GP and pharmacy referrals

With the NHS stepping back, they're worth trying — but not yet proven.

    More in: Marketing

  • Know the CQC question

Whether you need CQC registration depends on who you are and what you do. Check before launch.

More in: Legal & Regulatory Guidance

  • Build in reminders

A simple rebooking reminder fits this trade — no claims about how often ears need clearing.

    More in: Client Management

  • Use the usual local channels

Google Business Profile, reviews, flyers and social media all apply here too.

A few questions

Who made this, and why trust it?

Hugo Tupper built his own local mobile business from nothing to six figures in one year. It took hard work and long hours; it is his experience, not a promise of your results.

A word on Google and Meta ads

Much of the advice Google and Meta give you is built to raise your spend, not necessarily to bring you clients who book. You are billed per click even when the platform bids “for conversions”, and a small account spending a few pounds a day is not the client they are built to look after. If you know what to look out for — manual max CPC set deliberately low, tight intent-based search terms, a hard daily cap — by all means give it a try, and Google Search usually beats generic Meta display for a new local business. If not, put your money into your website, local listings and reviews first.
