What the rules say
Foot care has no statutory training requirement of its own -- what's strictly off-limits is using the protected titles "podiatrist" or "chiropodist" without HCPC registration. Clients, insurers and care-home referrers will still generally expect to see recognised training. Public liability insurance isn't a legal must for a sole trader, but given the hands-on nature of the work, most practitioners treat it as non-negotiable.
Quick answers
Do care homes in Coalbrookdale expect any particular checks or certificates?
Many care homes across Coalbrookdale expect to see evidence of relevant training, insurance, and often a DBS check before letting a practitioner treat residents -- it's worth having these ready before approaching local homes.
Can I treat diabetic clients as a non-HCPC foot care practitioner in Coalbrookdale?
Many Foot Health Practitioners in Coalbrookdale do work with diabetic clients, but for complex or high-risk diabetic foot conditions it's standard practice to involve the client's GP or a registered podiatrist rather than treat alone.
How often do foot care clients in Coalbrookdale typically rebook?
