How to Start a Mobile Foot Care Business in Hough Green

Starting a mobile foot care business in Hough Green? The trade itself is open to non-clinical practitioners, but the titles you can use are tightly protected. Here's what to know before you start working around Halton.

What the rules say

General foot care carries no statutory minimum qualification -- the hard line sits around the titles "podiatrist" and "chiropodist", which only HCPC-registered practitioners may use. Insurers, care homes and most professional bodies will nonetheless expect recognised training before they'll work with you. As a sole trader, public liability insurance stays optional in law but is close to essential given how hands-on this work is.

Quick answers

Do care homes in Hough Green expect any particular checks or certificates?

Many care homes across Hough Green expect to see evidence of relevant training, insurance, and often a DBS check before letting a practitioner treat residents -- it's worth having these ready before approaching local homes.

Can I treat diabetic clients as a non-HCPC foot care practitioner in Hough Green?

Many Foot Health Practitioners in Hough Green do work with diabetic clients, but for complex or high-risk diabetic foot conditions it's standard practice to involve the client's GP or a registered podiatrist rather than treat alone.

How often do foot care clients in Hough Green typically rebook?

Foot care is generally a recurring need every few weeks rather than a one-off treatment, which is one reason practitioners in Hough Green often build a predictable round of regular clients over time.

What equipment do I need to start in Hough Green?
