What the rules say
General foot care carries no statutory minimum qualification -- the hard line sits around the titles "podiatrist" and "chiropodist", which only HCPC-registered practitioners may use. Insurers, care homes and most professional bodies will nonetheless expect recognised training before they'll work with you. As a sole trader, public liability insurance stays optional in law but is close to essential given how hands-on this work is.
Quick answers
Do care homes in Laigh Kilmory expect any particular checks or certificates?
Many care homes across Laigh Kilmory expect to see evidence of relevant training, insurance, and often a DBS check before letting a practitioner treat residents -- it's worth having these ready before approaching local homes.
Can I treat diabetic clients as a non-HCPC foot care practitioner in Laigh Kilmory?
Many Foot Health Practitioners in Laigh Kilmory do work with diabetic clients, but for complex or high-risk diabetic foot conditions it's standard practice to involve the client's GP or a registered podiatrist rather than treat alone.
How often do foot care clients in Laigh Kilmory typically rebook?

At minimum, practitioners starting out in Laigh Kilmory need basic instruments, sterilisation equipment, and appropriate clinical waste arrangements -- the Foot Care Business Launch Kit sets out the full starter list.
