Explore the full Foot Care Business Launch Kit — £22A mobile foot care business means travelling to clients rather than working from fixed premises -- and Stoney Hill, like everywhere in the UK, has its own rules about what you can and can't call yourself. Here's the picture before your first visit in Bromsgrove.
What the rules say
Foot care has no statutory training requirement of its own -- what's strictly off-limits is using the protected titles "podiatrist" or "chiropodist" without HCPC registration. Clients, insurers and care-home referrers will still generally expect to see recognised training. Public liability insurance isn't a legal must for a sole trader, but given the hands-on nature of the work, most practitioners treat it as non-negotiable.
Quick answers
Do care homes in Stoney Hill expect any particular checks or certificates?
Many care homes across Stoney Hill expect to see evidence of relevant training, insurance, and often a DBS check before letting a practitioner treat residents -- it's worth having these ready before approaching local homes.
Can I treat diabetic clients as a non-HCPC foot care practitioner in Stoney Hill?
Many Foot Health Practitioners in Stoney Hill do work with diabetic clients, but for complex or high-risk diabetic foot conditions it's standard practice to involve the client's GP or a registered podiatrist rather than treat alone.
How often do foot care clients in Stoney Hill typically rebook?
Foot care is generally a recurring need every few weeks rather than a one-off treatment, which is one reason practitioners in Stoney Hill often build a predictable round of regular clients over time.
What equipment do I need to start in Stoney Hill?
At minimum, practitioners starting out in Stoney Hill need basic instruments, sterilisation equipment, and appropriate clinical waste arrangements -- the Foot Care Business Launch Kit sets out the full starter list.
