What the rules say
You don't need a formal qualification to offer general foot care, but you must never describe yourself as a "podiatrist" or "chiropodist" -- both are HCPC-protected titles. In practice, insurers, care homes and professional associations expect recognised training regardless. Public liability insurance remains legally optional for a sole trader but is about as close to essential as cover gets, given the physical contact involved in this work.

Many care homes across Walton Manor expect to see evidence of relevant training, insurance, and often a DBS check before letting a practitioner treat residents -- it's worth having these ready before approaching local homes.
Can I treat diabetic clients as a non-HCPC foot care practitioner in Walton Manor?
Many Foot Health Practitioners in Walton Manor do work with diabetic clients, but for complex or high-risk diabetic foot conditions it's standard practice to involve the client's GP or a registered podiatrist rather than treat alone.
How often do foot care clients in Walton Manor typically rebook?
