How to Start a Gardening Business in Abbey Parks
What you need to know about licensing, insurance and getting started -- specific to Abbey Parks and the wider Fife area.
See what's inside the Gardening Business Launch Kit — £22Starting a gardening business in Abbey Parks? There's no blanket licence standing in your way, but a few specific jobs -- waste removal, chainsaw work, pesticides -- carry their own rules across Fife.
What the rules say
General garden maintenance needs no general licence anywhere in the UK. Where the rules do bite is activity-specific: take a client's garden waste away yourself and waste carrier registration likely applies (Environment Agency in England, SEPA in Scotland, Natural Resources Wales in Wales), and chainsaw or pesticide work brings its own certification requirements on top. As a sole trader, public liability cover remains optional in law but expected in practice.
